The short version

CSE News Report has no accounts and no sign-in. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number, and we have no way to identify you. What you save and which alerts you choose stay on your device.

What stays on your device

None of this is sent to us. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.

What third parties receive

Firebase Cloud Messaging issues your device a registration token so notifications can reach it. The token identifies a device, not a person. We use it only to deliver alerts for the companies and sectors you chose, and never link it to anything else.

Google AdMob serves the advertising in the app and may use your device’s advertising identifier to select and measure ads. That identifier is under your control: Android Settings → Privacy → Ads lets you reset or delete it. Google’s handling of it is covered by Google’s privacy policy.

Firebase Realtime Database stores the news itself. Opening an article sends a request for that article; it carries no identifier we can trace to you.

What we do not do

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Turning things off

Notifications can be switched off inside the app, or in Android Settings for the app. Turning them off stops the alerts; the device token may persist until you uninstall.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that materially affects what is collected will be announced in the app before it takes effect.
